Suite of Stools

The owners of a bungalow here in Phoenix felt that some Arts & Crafts stools were just what they needed to augment their decorative approach. The set consisted of a Gentleman's Dressing Stool, described elsewhere, a tall Kitchen Stool, and a small Foot Stool. [Stool Group] The Kitchen Stool is 33-1/2" tall and has a 13" square seat. It's a good height to relax while you're waiting for the sauce to come to a simmer. The Foot Stool is 11-1/2" tall, and has a 9" by 14" oblong top. The edges of both are chamfered to soften them, and the Foot Stool has a hand hold.

Another client had a whole room full of light wood furniture, and wanted to see how a piece incorporating Arts & Crafts design elements would blend in. [Rock maple Stool] We made a stool of rock maple, unfinished, using the curvilinear elements much used by the Roycrofters. The stool is12" by 12" by 12" and costs $87.50.
